Rob Bartlett Memorial Leadership, Teamwork, & Perseverance Award

This award is in memorial of an amazing high school classmate of Ms. McCready’s, fellow founding member of the Erindale Outer’s Club, and fellow member of the founding class of the Earth Odyssey program at Erindale Secondary School - who lost his battle with cancer.

This award is in memorial of an amazing high school student who lost his battle with cancer. Rob Bartlett was a classmate of Ms. McCready's at Erindale Secondary School in Erin Mills, Mississauga; a co-founding member of the Erindale Outers' Club; and a fellow member of the founding class of the Earth Odyssey program. Rob exemplified team work, leadership, good character, inclusion, and perseverance - all with a great sense of humour and amazingly creative, original campfire stories (including one about a ghost of a one antlered moose after finding a lone moose antler on one of the backcountry overnight trips).

“Well do I have a story for you my friends…

Rob was going through cancer treatment during the semester of the Earth Odyssey program, and kept a positive attitude throughout - including on the three, 5-day long trips (Winter Bark Lake, Pre-Season Algonquin backpacking, spring Killarney canoeing).

Applicants should exemplify these traits, especially in challenging life circumstances, and maintain a positive attitude, demonstrate leadership and teamwork, and good character though out their time at OHS. This award will only be given to very exceptional applicants, and thus may not be awarded every year.

The maximum value of the award is $2,500, and it may be renewable at up to 50% of the entrance award value.

This award is paid personally from Ms. McCready's own funds towards the recipient's last tuition payment of the year.
